Holy Name Science Expo Project 2019-2020
Science Expo Scheduled for March 23-27, 2020
Family Science Night Wednesday, March 25th 5:00-6:30
*** All information will be recorded in the notebook provided by Mrs. Lykens. This will be their logbook. Each assignment will receive a separate grade, as will the completed report. Students should type their information directly into the template provided as they complete each section, creating their report over the course of the year rather than assembling it at the last minute.***
Due September 30, 2019--Science Fair Topic Approval Form—signed by teacher and parent And Statement of Purpose—why the topic was chosen and what you hope to learn in paragraph form—remember to proofread
Due October 21, 2019--Research and Cited Sources (Explanation of expert terms in the students own words—both what the term means and why it is important to the project) On-line dictionaries and print dictionaries are not acceptable sources. All terms must have the proper citation.
Due October 24, 2019--Hypothesis—an objective If…then… statement
Due November 5, 2019--Materials and Procedure (Written as a numbered list)
Due November 20, 2019 Revised procedure
Due December 18, 2019—Collection of Data showing both quantitative and qualitative data
Due January 24, 2020-- Data tables & Charts (graphs) typed in a spreadsheet program
Due February 18, 2020--Completed report--use the template provided—complete every section. Proofread thoroughly.
Due Monday, March 23, 2020--Completed Backboard Display with report in a binder or cover AND logbook (composition book)
